Retro Catwoman by mimi-na Retro Catwoman by mimi-na
Catwoman print - one of two Heroescon exclusives I had up last weekend.

The original was sold along with my Supergirl design at their auction :)

The style is inspired by Barbie box art from the late 70's/80's

This is a very pretty drawing of Catwoman in her retro costume! Great colors and backround! Ire ally like the mirror in the backround that is a nice touch! I like her pose too nice and classy for her!

You NAILED the style. My first thought was the old Barbie coloring books I had from the early 80s. Loved how they did hair!

Whoa... I just commented on your Supergirl piece about how it reminded me of Barbie products from the '80s and look I was totally spot-on! :P Heheh.

It's *always* fantastic to see retro Catwoman crop up every now and then. Although the skirt was rubbish and the cape was impractical, it had such style and flair that indicated a woman with class and sass. She was special in her royal purple. Now she's just a generic chick in an Emma Peel costume with mouse goggles. Boo.

I love her slightly devious eyes here, glancing off into the distance as if plotting her next scheme (possibly tying up Batman and having a little fun). The hair has that Barbie-feel to it but also reminds me of stain glass art. The textures, as I mentioned in your Supergirl one, are insane. You completely nail the shininess of her boots as well as the softness of her dress. And can I gush about the handle of the whip? You can see each and every braided detail without it looking cartoony. This is just plain awesomeness. Great job!
