Disney, let's face it, aren't exactly consistent in their current worship of Princesses.
Kida has to feel a bit pissed. A bona fide royal heir to an empire, she gets pretty short shrift from the Princess-spruikers.
I'm sure Disney could produce reams of market research showing that it's Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Cinders that little girls want. And if Kida's 'warrior princess' stylins just aren't pretty enough, well hey, that's business, I guess.

But I say they aren't trying hard enough. What would Kida look like if she was redesigned to conform to the other Princesses' standard of prettiness?
Something like this, I imagine.
I know this does a gross disservice to Kida as a character, but couldn't that be said for all the other Princesses as well?

I plan to do a picture of the 'forgotten princesses' - Disney gals who have the bona fide royalty but are left out of the Princess club.

I bets that how exactly how she would look like!

I'm kinda :pissed: that they leave her out of that princess club. I'm so freskin angry thinking that kida doesn't have enough "fans" to be a real "princess" er somethin. :chainsaw: I will find whoever decided that and crush them when I find their weakness. I worship you princess *bows to kida*

Are you still considering doing the "Forgotten" princesses set? that would be quite interesting to get your take on that. I'm all about originality and this Kida is right up there.

Bravo on the work as usual, it is Tops!

Gah, don't you hate business like that? Kida was one of the best un-stereo typed princessess, but no, they have to be pretty and dependant on men.... Psh, Kida was self confident, looking after herself! She was like... Like Marion from Indiana Jones! She was a stong individual!

Still, she does look pretty as oe of the "princess" stero types, but I still prefer her as her warrior girl self. She's a kick butt awesome chich... Why do Disney have to try and make girls look stereo typical to the world? Can't they let girls try to base of more stonger woman besides those like Ariel and all that?

Sorry, ranting... Wonderful art to make Kida look like one of the regular princesses.. she's very beautiful.

I liked this but I liked the original design better.

Well, I don't know who says otherwise, but the woman I see in all your drawings of Kida is simply gorgeous, in my opinion. I've never seen Atlantis, so I can't say if your pictures are accurate representations of the character, but your pictures sure make me want to watch the movie.

Oh no, Kida looks pretty different to this in the movie - very much a warrior princess. This is completely just my own version of her, IF she was 'glammed up' like the other princesses.

If that's the case I'm really going to have to watch it. Anyway, I think your picture's great, and I'll try to watch it to see what I think of the actual girl.

I love Kida. Particularly when Michael J Fox's character completely mangles her name. "Keeragashnaga..."

This is absolutely beautiful. The glowing tattoo and shimmery, sheer fabric of her sleeves softens this a lot. I actually like her typically wild look in the movie, myself, because she looks stronger and more robust than the usual DIsney princesses in hoop skirts and upsweeps.

I can't wait for the Princess and the Frog movie coming out this year. I'm painting her character on my daughter's wall.
