Disney, let's face it, aren't exactly consistent in their current worship of Princesses. Kida has to feel a bit pissed. A bona fide royal heir to an empire, she gets pretty short shrift from the Princess-spruikers. I'm sure Disney could produce reams of market research showing that it's Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Cinders that little girls want. And if Kida's 'warrior princess' stylins just aren't pretty enough, well hey, that's business, I guess.
But I say they aren't trying hard enough. What would Kida look like if she was redesigned to conform to the other Princesses' standard of prettiness? Something like this, I imagine. I know this does a gross disservice to Kida as a character, but couldn't that be said for all the other Princesses as well?
I plan to do a picture of the 'forgotten princesses' - Disney gals who have the bona fide royalty but are left out of the Princess club.
Interesting...
I admit, I'm one of those who tends to forget about Kida when thinking of 'Disney princesses.' Heh... But I'm eager to see your 'forgotten princesses' picture
I want Nala. And Belle isn't a princess for most of the movie, they are labeling her as such? oo
For Kida, it may be because her movie wasn't such a huge success.
Hm, the picture. Must not forget the picture. Nice work on the character, especially with the light orientation. The eyes and the crystal are beautiful, and the texture of the fabric on the arms looks awesome.
what stikes me as odd is. The Disney princess list has Mulan in it who ISN'T a princess, although is a warrior. but not kida who is both a princess and a warrior -__- oh the emense ghey that is disney

Sorry, second note here... It's not covered in the film or TV series, but "Hercules"'s Megara, in original mythology, was the princess of Thebes. Pity Disney neglected to mention that. She's one of my very favourites, too. Would love to see your take on her
I totally agree! My fave characters are Esmeralda and Kida, maybe because I am not so young. Megara, Kida and the others are better for teenage girls, I think. but the teenagers like bands and actors instead
