Well, for those who like the retro Disney stuff I've done lately, this is taking it a step further.
What might some of our modern heroines have looked like if Mary Blair was alive and still kicking arse as Disney's greatest ever colour stylist?
(if you don't know who she is, look her up)
Painter 9 - guoache and pastels
EDIT This pic was accidentally uploaded twice last night. I blame DA for being a glitchy slow SOB. Anyway, if you faved the other one which got deleted, apologies. Feel free to refave this one.
This is great, and definitely brought Mary Blair to mind for me. Also reminds me of that idea of an "it's a small world" layover with Disney's animated characters in their respective countries that was rumored a while back. (I heard that was going into Hong Kong DL. No idea if that's true.) My favorite one is Mulan. She's so pretty! Keep up the fantastic work!

I looked up Mary Blair and I recognized her work right away
I hope you don't mind me saying, but I absolutely adore Mulan and Pocahontas, but I'm not all that fond of Bell. I think it's her hair? But either way they're all adorable and well drawn
Pocahontas reminds me of something you'd see as a cave drawing in Disney, only more detailed (?).
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
