Little Cinderella.

That's actually a bit of a misnomer. That's not her real name - not the one her PARENTS gave her, anyway. Remember that 'Cinderella' is the name stepmother gave her. Cindy's place as the house's new slave is to sleep at the hearth among the cinders.
Rossini wrote one of his operas about her, 'La Cenerentola'. In it, her given name is Angelina.

So here's little Angelina instead ;)
This is shortly after her father remarried. She's so happy to have two new sisters to play with and a kitten to play with her puppy, Bruno.
Poor kid.

NOTE: To everyone leaping in to say her name is Ella, no it's not. Not in any original versions of the fairytale, anyway. 'Cinderella' is derived from the Italian 'La Cenerentola', which means literally "Girl of the hearth'. Modern books or movies that call her Ella are basically using a convenient contraction to make the name change work in English. Linguistically, the '-ella' part is just a feminine diminuitive.
Yes, there have been versions of the story that give her real names, but for this pic, I chose Angelina just because I think it's a pretty name. That's all. So please stop with the Ella argument, it's been done.

I didn't know that about her real name. And it's not one many people would put with her.

Great job with the pic by the way. It reminds me of her crying on the bed at the beginning, but it's got enough of a change to tell that time has passed.

I love your retro style. I don't think anybody else has a look like this.
:iconmimi-na:
Well, I didn't really set out to make her look exactly like the few little glimpses of young Cindy we see in the movie. It's just my own style taking over a bit ;)

I think the Disney version may have called her Ella. Anyhow, she looks so cute and sweet here-even that darn cat-er I mean Lucifer looks quite cute.

She was only named Cinderella in the movie, but who knows, there may be a storybook somewhere that called her Ella, it's entirely possible *shrug*.

It's only in the old storybooks that we see Snow White's own mother, too.
:iconfirstrainbowrose:
Yes, but I love your style. I wish I could afford to comission you to do a couple.
