Lest anyone think drawing Pixar comics just fell out of the sky into my lap, I had to 'audition' as an artist first, with representatives of Disney Publishing, Pixar and Boom's editor-in-chief Mark Waid having the final say on which artists got to proceed with the series.
For each series, artists had to do several colour model sheets and a page of colour sequential(no script, just made up), to demonstrate they could draw the characters with energy, personality and reasonable accuracy. This was my audition page for Nemo. The reef background is very makeshift, but the emphasis at this stage is mostly on nailing the character acting. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
